Fear and Loathing in the West

{link » The normblog profile 258: Marko Attila Hoare}
“I loathe and despise the anti-Western, so-called 'radical' left out of all proportion to their actual political significance.” — Marko Attila Hoare
I concur with the personal sentiment, but not necessarily with the estimation of political significance. The radical (sans characterization of irony) Left is as despicable as its motivations: craven hypocrisy, delusion, self hatred, ignorance, and mean-spirited denial of documented history, to mention a few of the obvious.

Based on personal anecdotal evidence, the members of this crowd, by and large, should know better. But, for various reasons, they choose to perpetuate failed and repeatedly discredited ideology to the misfortune of their countrymen and, ultimately, themselves. Revolting narcissistic cowards.

Since they tend to blend into the woodwork of young idealists, old defeatists, and middle-aged purveyors of 'ignorance is bliss', it is difficult to estimate their relative numbers. But because of their cachet, enhanced by some legitimate accomplishment or illegitimate notoriety, they wield much leveraged influence over their pedestrian cohorts. Unlike Marko Attila Hoare, I do not underestimate their potential for mayhem in the midst of a global assault by traditional fascist foes of Western democracy.
