But racism it is, nevertheless.

“As someone who was a sixties civil rights worker, wrote movies for Richard Pryor (successfully) and Whoopi Goldberg (unsuccessfully), and has had the pleasure of working with many talented African Americans at PJ Media for nearly seven years now, I think I have earned the right to write what should be painfully obvious to everyone — most of the racism in America today is from blacks (aided and abetted by white liberals) toward whites. […] It’s all racist as I understood the word in the sixties — making assumptions about other people so you don’t have to consider their humanity — only it’s now in reverse. This isn’t to say that whites undergo severe oppression. They don’t. But the racial climate of our society is increasingly polarized and the survival of the Democratic Party, as presently constituted, is the cause. Everyone’s life suffers as a consequence, with the exception perhaps of those who make a living off race-baiting. That the minorities being exploited suffer most of all is almost a cliche. Unfortunately, it also happens to be true.”

I know what you're thinking, if you're a Leftist (though I am quite confident everyone else does understand Simon): This must be a variation of the old school-yard taunt, "No, you are the (fill in the blank)!" But before you succumb to your knee-jerk conclusion, think about it for a moment. What do you think the monolithic support Obama enjoys from African-Americans implies? That nearly all blacks believe Obama is a model President? That he is doing wonderful things for the Nation and, in particular, for his fellow blacks? That based on his great accomplishments (name one) he deserves another four years in office? Bullshit. He has their unshakable support for one reason only: the color of his skin resembles theirs.
Similar inclinations, though not to the same degree of extremism, apply to Jewish progressive-liberals, which is practically a tautology. Nevertheless, the non-black supporters of Obama are in a sense even more senseless: their stubborn allegiance to, arguably, the most disastrous Presidency in American history, is largely due to trivial face-saving: their refusal to acknowledge their extremely bad judgement in 2008. Even that very intelligent Professor Alan Dershowitz can't bear to admit he was a fool in supporting Obama in 2008.
