Kicking Down the Barn

“René Hen, PhD, professor of Neuroscience and Pharmacology, in the Departments of Neuroscience and Psychiatry at Columbia University and the New York State Psychiatric Institute, has discovered a possible escape hatch by which some members of society might escape the Idiocracy. It involves the use of chemicals called "BAX inhibitors." Particular members of that class of drugs have the potential to preserve newborn stem cells in the brain's hippocampus. And doing that could make all the difference in the course of a person's life success and happiness. […] Realistically, it will take 15 years at the earliest to see the early promise of this type of medication come to fulfillment. But a single ray of hope in the distance is worth a lot to a person immersed in the modern rush to Idiocracy.”

“However, the theory that Idiocrates (who founded the Stoic School of Idiocracy) and his assistants proposed in their table was not without its skeptics. The Roman mathematician Moronicus wrote: "('Idiocrates')... would have us believe that water and dirt comprise two separate elements... well, what about mud then, Mr. Smarty-Pants?" To which Idiocrates replied: "What about your MOM!" Thus thoroughly shutting Moronicus the f*ck up.”

I dunno. Seems like those rushing to Idiocracy are winning the race. Chances are Idiocrates' modern incarnation (full name: άτομο με έναν μικρό εγκέφαλο αλλά ένα μεγάλο πέος) will win another four-year term, too.

It's looking rather grim. No matter how many blunders and atrocities are perpetrated by the Idiocracy currently in power, the nutroots keep quoting Oliver Twist, "Please, sir, I want some more." They have an insatiable appetite for punishment.

If conservatives manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory (yet again) there is no telling how much entropy will be generated by The Obama's machinations. “Any jackass can kick down a barn.” Word to the wise.
