It all depends on what your meaning of "snub" is

“White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod on Sunday stressed there was ‘no snub intended’ in a meeting between President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the disputed housing construction in East Jerusalem.”

What we have here is a classic case of failure to communicate. You see, "no snub intended" is not equivalent to "did not snub". The latter is merely a lie; the former is a bald-faced lie.

You see, boys and girls, the Pope could (though I am quite certain that he never would) announce to the world that he is not Catholic. But, even though he is deemed to be infallible on Church issues, that would still not make his claim true. It would constitute a false claim. Because, as everyone knows, the Pope is, and always has been, Catholic.
