I didn't realize Obama's uncle was in one of Marshal Konev's Russian Army units, elements of which liberated Auschwitz concentration camp (in Poland) on January 27, 1945. I believe that the American and British Armies under General Eisenhower hadn't even crossed the Rhine by that date. In any case, the American and British forces remained west of the Elbe River, where they had met at War's end the Russian forces advancing from the east.
Such important details of world history must have been glossed over during Obama's "training" for the Presidency of the United States. But it is arrogant to ignore Obama's failure to acquire a working knowledge of: 20th-Century history, which only ended less than a decade ago; European geography, which is still in vogue, and is a prerequisite for understanding the purpose of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, a fundamental aspect of American foreign policy; and the interactions between the two major allies of World War II, America and Russia, who defeated Nazi Germany.
