They must not falter in defending Obamacare, in insisting on tax hikes, in seeking to impose new burdens on the economy, and in trying to undercut our troops in Afghanistan. […] The 1960 Democratic convention rejected [Eugene] McCarthy’s plea, of course. It nominated John Kennedy, who went on to win the presidency. But today’s Democrats seem inclined to avoid following the hard-headed, hawkish, culturally mainstream model of John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson and Hubert Humphrey. Instead, today’s Democrats revel in their status as heirs to Adlai Stevenson. For today’s Democrats, Nancy Pelosi will be an exemplary House minority leader. The peevish childishness of the "rationalized" Democrats is a wonder to behold. True to form, and as predicted by yours truly, they are bound and determined to cut off their noses to spite their faces. Their reaction to having been served with the Nation's restraining order on November 2nd? Damn the torpedoes; full speed ahead! And so the freak-show must go on, as the train-wreck that left the station in 2008 accelerates at full throttle to the gallows-merriment of Daily-Kos nation.
In life, nobody promised you a rose garden. But if someone gifts you with roses, one must not look the gift horse in the mouth, so to speak.
