Are there any email users who do not know the difference between the [Reply] button and the [ReplyToAll] button? Sadly, the answer is, "Quite a few." Who among us has not experienced the following scenario?
You have the misfortune of having been included on an unsophisticated distribution list, which purports to inform you about list-related business. In principle, this is a fine idea.Yes, on very rare occasion, even sophisticated users of email will press the wrong button. Such an occurrence is known by its technical name, "Shit happens." But not, I repeat, not this much shit! What one sees is a veritable shitstorm of idiocy.
On occasion, however, the information that is dispensed via this list solicits a response from those list members who have an interest to do so. This is when the shit hits the fan.
Within a few minutes time, especially for a big distribution list, the inbox of your mailer is inundated with idiotic replies, idiotic because they weren't meant for your consideration. They were, of course, intended for the sender of the original email, not for everyone on the f*cking list.
But, this is not the worst of it. After a brief lull, when the eye of the storm passes, the second wave begins on the backside of the shitstorm, so to speak. To add insult to injury, your inbox is again inundated, this time with irate demands to be removed from this annoying distribution list!
WTF?!
