Dr. Robert Shaw [B.Eng.Physics, Cornell 1963] discusses options for filling the 17 TW carbon-free "energy gap" by 2050 and offers arguments for what appears to be the most compelling solution, based on technology readiness, cost effectiveness, and long term sustainability.
Big Bob, who graduated #1 in my own EP Class of '63 [disclosure: I was #13], makes a persuasive and entertaining argument for a solar solution to the world's energy needs.
