When the New York Times (NYT) publishes a story in its Middle East section of World news, and the story is not openly antagonistic toward Israel, the NYT is either reporting dire news for Israel or its editorial staff have collectively gone off message for unexplained reasons. Perhaps the editors have been self-medicating beyond their normal overdosing limits.
Maybe it's a desperate ploy to recover a semblance of its former status as the national newspaper of record. I haven't seen any pigs flying, however ...
