Does anyone in the Senate recall what is the point of its confirmation hearings? Something to do with its Constitutional obligation, formerly known as "Advice and Consent"?

What a shameless farce it has devolved into. Nothing wrong with being cordial, but this chummy mutual-admiration-society spirit is nauseating. BFF is not the ideal relationship between the three Branches of government; it confounds the effectiveness of checks and balances.

These proceedings are worse than a farce. They don't even rise to the level of the average reality TV show.
